| Mini-Abdominoplasty
Patients who have mild skin laxity which may
exist after pregnancy or weight gain with subsequent weight loss
are the best candidates for this procedure. Upper abdominal
liposuction is required with a majority of patients who undergo
mini abdominoplasty. A wedge resection of skin is carried out
below the belly button, and the scar is placed within the bikini
line. Internal suturing may or may not be required, and the need
for this depends on the patient’s desires and anatomical
considerations. Frequently, Mini-Abdominoplasty and upper
abdomen liposuction are performed along with liposuction of the
flank and back regions. Again, total truncal rejuvenation is the
goal when all of these procedures are combined. This procedure
is generally done as an outpatient procedure, meaning the
patient returns home the same day of surgery.
